German boutique chain 25hours Hotels launched in 2005 and now have 13 hotels in nine cities including Vienna, Hamburg and Paris. Known for their daring, whimsy and attention to detail, each property has its own individual story.
We paired with 25hours to create a unique print magazine called Companion, a joint project with our editorial arm Friends of Friends, tapping into our global network of trusted creatives from art, design, architecture, music, gastronomy, sport and beyond.

Companion is designed like a classic tabloid newspaper: a front page draws in readers with eye-catching photos, fonts and headlines of different sizes, inviting them to turn the page. City guides and full-length interviews mingle with cultural tips and playlists, in English and German.

Companion's concept, design and development is done entirely by us. 25hours liked it so much that our Companion pieces now scroll across the front of their website as well, offering a window into the 25hours culture worldwide.

Beyond Companion, we ran video and content production across the group, including the opening party for the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin. For each property we wrote and produced scripted introduction films, now running on screens in every hotel and online, giving every city its own moving portrait.
Every city has a story. We help 25hours tell it.
25hours Hotels is one of Europe's most distinctive boutique hotel groups: each property has its own personality, neighbourhood, and cultural programme. Their in-house magazine, Companion, needed to reflect this individuality, on the page and on screen.
We designed Companion as a proper publication: editorial in structure, rich in photography, and designed to be kept rather than discarded. Alongside it, we produced video content for the group, from the opening party at the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin to scripted films introducing each hotel, now playing on screens across all locations.
