"Distilling a century of tradition into a new look."

A new visual identity and website for Weiler, the reinvention of a family-run liquor distillery operating near the Bodensee since 1926.

Weiler is the reinvention of a family-run liquor distillery, operating near the Bodensee since 1926. The studio crafted a new visual identity steeped in family history, and a website that communicates the magic of making apple schnapps the old-fashioned way.

The Weiler logo is inspired by old liquor bottles from small distilleries throughout Germany. To accompany the wordmark, the studio created a custom stamp based on the “W” of the family crest, used as a seal of authenticity.

Johannes Weber, the grandson of the distillery's founder
A seal of authenticity, distilled by hand.

Each distillation produces around 300 bottles sold in limited batches to selected shops. The bottle's label is customisable, allowing it to adapt over the years; the distiller's name, year of production and bottle number are handwritten, and each batch is manually stamped with the family seal.

The studio created a crop of visual assets and content for the brand's social and online presence in collaboration with sister agency Friends of Friends, who featured an in-depth profile of Johannes Weber and the distillery's history.
