Mauer museum

Web Design

"An intuitive website for a complex history."

Website redesign for the Mauermuseum, Haus am Checkpoint Charlie, making one of Berlin's most significant historical institutions clear, navigable, and alive online.

Since 1962, the Mauermuseum at Checkpoint Charlie has been telling the stories of people who fled East Germany and the history of the Berlin Wall.

A modular system structures the museum's complexity while responding to a constantly changing programme of events and key dates. Editorial content treatment, contemporary fonts, and a cool blue palette, informative without being stuffy.
